What is stainless steel bar?
Stainless steel bar stock is a standard type of steel material that is manufactured from stain
-less steel raw materials. It is regularly used to produce a wide variety of metal parts, products
and components.
How strong is stainless steel bar?
It has good ductility in the annealed condition but is capable of being hardened up to Rockwell
Hardness 50HRC, the highest hardness of the 12 per cent chromium grades. Its best corrosion
resistance is achieved when the metal is hardened and surface ground or polished.
Which is better SS 304 or 316?
For instance, 316 stainless steel is more resistant than 304 to salt and other corrosives. So,
if you are manufacturing a product that will often face exposure to chemicals or a marine environ
-ment, 316 is the better choice.
